Privacy notice
Last updated 2 November 2026
This is my personal portfolio. It has no accounts or forms and sets no cookies. Here is what gets collected when you visit, and why.
Who's responsible
I'm Ahmed Hmeid, based in Berkshire, UK, and I run this site. Questions go to a.hmeid@gmail.com.
What I collect
I use PostHog for usage analytics. When you visit, it records:
- The pages you view, including their address and title, and the site that sent you here
- The main things you do here: opening a project or one of its live apps, opening a screenshot or career entry, turning on a video's sound, downloading my CV, and clicking my email or LinkedIn links
- Technical details: your browser, operating system, device type, language, time zone and screen size
PostHog also receives your IP address, as any website you visit does. On its servers it creates a hash so that visitors can be counted roughly without storing anything on your device, and it may estimate your approximate location.
I don't collect your name or email address, and I don't use this to work out who you are.
Cookies and storage
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser for analytics. PostHog runs in its cookieless mode.
Why I collect it
To see which work people are interested in and how the site gets used. My lawful basis is legitimate interests: it's a small, low-impact way of understanding a personal site.
Who handles it
PostHog processes the analytics data for me on its EU cloud. The company hosting this site may also keep standard server logs. I don't sell this data or use it for advertising.
How long I keep it
I keep analytics data only for as long as it's useful for understanding how the site is used, within PostHog's retention limits.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of data about you, and you can object to this analytics, by emailing a.hmeid@gmail.com. Because the data isn't tied to your name, I may not be able to find what relates to you. A content blocker will also stop the analytics from loading.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Other sites
Links to LinkedIn and to the apps I've built take you to other sites, which have their own privacy terms.
