CraftYourStory

You are the hero. You choose the path. The AI draws the pictures.

What it is

CraftYourStory makes personalised choose-your-own-adventure storybooks. You create a hero, usually your child, and get an AI-drawn avatar of them. Pick an age group and a world, choose one of three story ideas, and Claude writes the first page while Flux paints it. Every page ends with three choices, and the next page is written down whichever path the reader picks, for seven pages from setup to a happy ending.

  • 7pages per story, each ending in three choices
  • 3next pages written in advance while you read
  • 4age groups, from about 150 to 800 words a page
  • 252worlds to pick from across the age groups

Key features

  • Your child as the hero

Build a character from their age, skin tone, hair, eyes, glasses, freckles and outfit, from knight to astronaut. Flux draws a Pixar-style avatar. "Touch Up" keeps the same face with your changes, and "Draw New" starts again.

  • Three ideas to start

Pick a hero, an age group and a world, and Claude pitches three different story ideas, each with its own twist, sidekick and setting.

  • A choice on every page

Each page ends with three paths. The one you pick is kept as a chapter marker, so you can scroll back through the whole adventure.

  • A painting for every page

Every page gets its own illustration, with the hero drawn the same way each time, and it appears as soon as it is ready.

  • Made for phones

Stories read like a feed: swipe up through short text cards and full-screen pictures.

  • A library of adventures

Finished stories sit on a bookshelf with their covers, ready to read again. A public demo account has stories to try with no sign-up.

In action

The landing page: "You are the hero. You choose the path. The AI draws the pictures."
The studio: the cast of heroes, each with an AI-drawn avatar, and a library of finished stories.
A hero's character card. Their looks and outfit shape the avatar and how they are drawn in every story.
Starting an adventure: pick the hero, the age group, then a world to explore.
Reading on a phone: swipe up through the text and the painting for each page.
Every page ends with three choices.
The choice is kept as a chapter marker, and the story carries on down that path.
Under the hood

The parts that aren't obvious

  1. All three futures, written in advance

While you read a page, all three possible next pages are generated in parallel and cached together. If any one fails none are saved, so a choice either loads instantly or falls back to writing it live.

  2. A story arc, not an endless one

Each of the seven pages has a set beat, from calm setup through crisis and climax to a peaceful ending, which steers the tension of the writing and the tone of the picture.

  3. Memory across pages

After each page, Claude rewrites a short running summary in the background. The next page is written from that summary plus the last page in full, so long stories stay consistent without huge prompts.

  4. A consistent cast

The first page defines every character as a short visual description, and those descriptions go into every image prompt so the hero looks the same throughout.

  5. Structured AI output

Every Claude call uses tool calling with a schema, so pages always come back with exactly three options, and responses are validated and retried with backoff.

  6. Costs tracked per call

Each page of text, summary and illustration logs its tokens or images and what it cost, so the price of every story is known.
